I am Dr Rahul Agarwal practicing as a Consultant Surgical Oncologist in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital, a leading cancer centre in Kolkata, West Bengal. I started my journey in the field of medicine from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata where I did my MBBS completing in 2012. I was fortunate to follow my dreams of becoming a surgeon and joined masters (M.S. General Surgery) in 2013 completing in 2016 form Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata. Immediately thereafter, I got selected as a Senior Resident in the Department of General Surgery of the prestigious A.I.I.M.S., New Delhi. With time my interest in oncology grew and in 2017 I left A.I.I.M.S. and started to prepare for superspecialization in surgical oncology. With persistent hard work and being committed to becoming a surgical oncologist, I cleared All India NEET SS Examination in 2019 joined Gujarat Cancer research Institute (BJMC University, Ahmedabad). GCRI not only gave me a deeper insight into the working and management of this dreaded disease but also gave me an opportunity to learn from stalwarts of oncology. After achieving my degree in M.Ch. Surgical Oncology in 2022, I joined as a Consultant in the Department of Surgical Oncology, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital, Kolkata.
Ever since I started to treat patient with cancer, I have continuously felt the need to have quick access to evidence based management and keep myself updated. Due to a busy work schedule and cumbersome process to access data, most of us desire but are unable to do it on a regular basis. This website is an attempt to make some of these evidence and protocols readily available for a better patient management. With a team of various specialists in oncology, our aim is to provide a single platform where comprehensive information needed in every branch of oncology is available. Through quiz, discussions, webinars and more such interactions learning can be simplified, ideas can be exchanged and issues faced in routine patient management can be solved.
